Brook Haven House is a women’s home located in the peaceful village of Carthage, New York.

Our goal is to help young women, age 18 & older, who are pregnant and find themselves without a place to live and prepare for motherhood.

Each resident has:

• her own private, furnished bedroom
• shared bathroom and laundry facilities
• family-style meals that are planned and prepared together under the direction of our House Mom
• shared family room area with cable tv and high-speed internet access
• a sense of independence, with basic responsibilities

Our Christian home offers:

• a safe, comfortable living environment
• transportation to medical appointments
• guidance and networking in areas of job and education opportunities
• training in areas of life-skills development and parenting
• hope and encouragement to guide women and their babies with greater confidence and strength into a brighter future

Brook Haven accommodates up to four women and their babies. Our residents may move in during or after their pregnancy and can remain in the home up to the baby's first birthday. Before the baby’s first birthday, residents are free to move out whenever they feel ready to do so.

If a resident chooses to place her child for adoption, she may continue to live in the home until she has been assisted in searching for independent living arrangements and other available services such as employment and educational opportunities in the community.

Brook Haven is within short walking distance of community services such as banking, post office, drug stores, churches, shops, and a public library. Doctors' offices and a hospital are within a few minutes' drive.
